Marc Samuel “Maru” Begley is a British Valorant competitor featured on Roadmap's coaching page. Our homepage highlights sentinel and initiator roles and his EXCEL background. Competitive background
VLR's Maru profile records time with Purple Cobras in 2020, EXCEL from March to October 2021, and DSYRE from January to September 2022. It also records Purple Cobras reaching the First Strike: Europe main event.
The March 2021 EXCEL roster announcement report identifies Maru as part of the lineup. EXCEL is a historical team affiliation here; this page does not claim he currently plays for EXCEL or a VCT partner team.

Sentinel review topics
For a sentinel VOD, bring both a round where the opponent attacked your site and one where they went elsewhere. The useful decisions are different.
On a site hit, examine whether your setup gave actionable information, whether you could survive long enough for help, and whether your position exposed you to multiple angles.
When the action happens elsewhere, review what information justified a rotation. Moving too soon can leave space unprotected; moving too late can remove you from the round. The review should examine the evidence available at the moment, rather than judge only the eventual result.
Initiator review topics
Choose a round where a teammate tried to enter with your support. Check the timing between the ability, their movement and your own ability to trade.
Then review a slower round. Did you spend all your information tools before the team made a decision? Could you communicate a simpler plan? A useful session turns those questions into a cue you can carry into the next match.
How to prepare for feedback
Bring one full match, your normal agent pool and a small set of timestamps. Include at least one successful round so you can compare what changed when the plan worked.
Use the VOD review checklist to separate positioning, utility, mechanics and decision-making. The aim is to leave with a priority you can practice, not to reproduce every professional setup.
